Delivering IP education support in Georgia
3 Aug 2022
Inngot’s Dr Alison Orr was in the Georgian capital, Tbilisi, last month as part of the EUGIPP (EU-Georgia Intellectual Property Project) joint programme between the EUIPO - European Union Intellectual Property Office and Sakpatenti – the Georgian Intellectual Property Office – to roll out new IP audit services across the country.
As an aside, Alison is in awe of the EUIPO’s instant translation team, which handled Glaswegian to Georgian with ease!
Alison has been working with the EUIPO on ‘train the trainers’ programs across Europe for the past few years, training IP professionals who will be delivering IP audits across the EU as part of the EUIPO-administered IP Scan service (supported by its SME Fund).Inngot has also previously worked with national IP and innovation agencies around the world on similar programmes, from IP training to creation of business-friendly IP guides and case studies (for example, a major project for IPO Singapore). Alison and her Inngot colleagues Dr Ian Goodyer also deliver IP training sessions as part of the Intellectual Property Office UK IP Masterclass programme.
The latest EUIPO-Georgia project saw a full-day in-person practical training session in Tbilisi to assist Sakpatenti with the roll out of an IP Scan-type service to assist Georgian organisations to understand, manage and exploit IP better, building on an earlier two-day online course covering commercial aspects of IP and featuring mock IP audit interviews.
Inngot regularly delivers IP education support activities tailor-made to meet the needs of IP-rich companies, universities and other research bodies and government agencies around the world. You can find out more about how we can help with IP education services on our website.
