Inngot helps Advanced Propulsion Centre tech developer program

11 May 2020

Inngot is again working with the Advanced Propulsion Centre (APC) to support the delivery of the Technology Developer Accelerator Programme (TDAP), which supports smaller organisations on their journey from concept to a viable commercial product.

The APC is providing over £1m in support through TDAP 2020 to 14 micro, small and medium-sized companies developing innovative low carbon technologies to significantly reduce vehicle emissions.

The APC says that in addition to financial backing of up to £100,000, the companies also benefit from access to industry experts helping them to identify routes to market, protect intellectual property and intangible assets (IP) and validate their technology.

As one of the experts involved, Inngot are proud to again be advising on IP strategy and commercialisation issues. This is the fourth year Inngot has delivered IP support to the APC's TDAP.

After an introduction to the basics of IP and intangibles and IP commercialisation, Inngot will help participants create an ‘inventory’ of all their knowledge-based assets and support with research on the competitive landscape the participant is operating in, including one-to-one advice on strategy. Participants can opt to have in-depth IP audits and valuations if they wish.

The Advanced Propulsion Centre (APC) accelerates the industrialisation of technologies which will help to realise net-zero emission vehicles. Jointly funded by the UK Government and the automotive industry, since its foundation in 2013, APC has funded over 110 low-carbon projects, involving more than 290 partners. The technologies developed in these projects are projected to save over 179 million tonnes of CO2, the equivalent of removing the lifetime emissions from 6.5 million cars.

Josh Denne, TDAP Manager, says: “SME’s play a crucial role in the low-carbon future of the automotive industry; by supporting companies at the beginning of their commercialisation journey we can ensure the UK stays competitive with some of the most exciting technological innovation in the sector.”
