Inngot's Dr Alison Orr speaks at M-SParc scale-up
27 Oct 2021
To celebrate Wales Enterprise Day on Thursday, 11 November 2021, Anglesey-based innovation centre M-Sparc (Menai Science Park) is organising a new online event, "IP & SME - Scaling-Up".
The new virtual seminar is a sequel to last April’s webinar, "IP & SMEs: Taking your ideas to market," which celebrated World IP Day 2021.
Inngot is pleased to announce that our Head of IP Relations, Dr Alison Orr, has again been asked to talk on IP and intangible asset identification, valuation and monetisation.
The webinar will look at how SMEs and scale-ups can unlock funding for developing their products and services, expanding their capacity and exploiting new opportunities. That is likely to require equity investment, which can be provided by Business Angels, Venture Capitalists, and the Alternative Investment Market.
Along with Alison, speakers at the seminar will include an angel, venture capitalist and NOMAD (nominated advisor), as well as solicitor and insolvency practitioner Andrea Knox of Knox Commercial, business advisor Heather Abrahams of Innovate UK Edge and BIC Innovation, and Sean Thomas of Thomas Harrison IP.
The organiser and host will be IP barrister, Jane Lambert of NIPC Law.
The panel discussion will focus on what equity investors will demand from SMEs and scale-ups before investing – including due diligence, sound legal agreements, full IP protection, and an inventory of the IP and intangible assets a company owns.
