IP experts including Inngot deliver EU Masterclasses

15 Nov 2018

Inngot was recently invited by the EU IPO, on behalf of the European Commission, to participate on a series of “Train the Trainers” masterclasses for a new European Commission IP pre-diagnostic (IPPD) service. Inngot was asked as IP experts in the field of valuation and commercialisation.

An IP pre-diagnostic or IP audit is a tool that can help SMEs see the benefits of IP in their individual context and show them how they can integrate IP in their business strategy.

IPPD is a pilot programme to be rolled out in some EU countries, based around and building on experience from similar audit schemes (e.g. the UK IPO's ‘IP Audits Plus’ scheme and similar initiatives from France's INPI and the European Patent Office). The aim of IPPD is to have a network of business advisers on hand to raise awareness within the EU SME community of IP and wider intangible assets family, and the value they can deliver.

IP experts from across the EU shared best practices on IP management, strategy and valuation in an interactive training session. Inngot was represented by Dr Alison Orr.

Dr Orr gained her BSc (Hons) Molecular Biology and D.Phil. Clinical Medicine from the Universities of Glasgow and Oxford. She is a part-qualified patent attorney, and worked in private practice before moving into the world of IP commercialisation. She also lectures in IP and international business at Sheffield Hallam University's Business School.

At Inngot, Alison conducts IP audits and Early Stage Indicative Valuations, along with training and coaching on IP, technology scouting and advising on exploitation of IP in International Markets.

Inngot offers a suite of online tools to help innovative businesses identify, manage and value intellectual property and intangible assets. In addition to its IP valuation tools, it contributes to the international debate on how best to help SMEs in particular uncover and leverage the value locked up in their IP and intangible assets and offers bespoke IP valuation and technology valuation services.
